WeeK 7 – Open the Floodgates of Power!

This is the time when things are starting shake up. I am not the person I was 7 weeks ago. I really don’t know myself anymore. I am a person who is motivated, focused, enthusiastic, compassionate and happy. I love life! I look in the mirror and see “same old me”, but….. its the “same me” without the OLD BLUEPRINT!

This week MKS is very powerful and I have many things highlighted in my notes. I noticed that the word “power” was used a lot throughout this chapter.  So I will quote a few of my favorites…

11. If you can conscientiously follow these directions, you will develop Faith, the kind of Faith that is the “Substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen”; you will develop confidence, the kind of confidence that leads to endurance and courage; you will develop the power of concentration which will enable you to exclude all thoughts except the ones which are associated with your purpose.
15. Think of it! You have over five million of these mental workers, ready and in active use; brain cells they are called. Besides this, there is another reserve force of at least an equal number, ready to be called into action at the slightest need. Your power to think, then, is almost unlimited, and this means that your power to create the kind of material which is necessary to build for yourself any kind of environment which you desire is practically unlimited.
25. If the law operates perfectly to bring about poverty, lack and every form of limitation for those who are continually entertaining thoughts of lack and fear, it will operate with the same certainty to bring about conditions of abundance and opulence for those who entertain thoughts of courage and power.

It all comes down to the fact that power comes from concentration of thought on a definite purpose! And the more powerful the thought, the greater the manifestation of that thought.
I will share a personal story here… My father was an electrical engineer. He was a thinker and inventor. He had several patents in his career and worked on lots of big steel mill projects. In his retirement he had grand ideas and inventions that never came out of the prototype stage. He was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s and Dementia a few years ago and had to go to long term care. When we cleaned out his home there where so many plans, drawings and inventions that had never come “off the paper”. In his library I had found Think and Grow Rich among *thousands* of other books. He valued intellectual property so much! He had the power to create but just not the focus. Those thousands of books had him chasing after all the things “without”. This week reading the story of Tesla was bitter sweet as he worked so diligently from “within”.

I love you all, and thank you for reading! Find your inner focus and find the power and genius within! ~ Catherine

  2. Hello Catherine!
What a powerful story about your Dad. We bought a home 11 years ago from a couple who had to sell because the husband, a former engineer, had Alzheimer’s and could no longer take care of the property or be trusted by himself. Such a sad but common story. I know my own father struggled his whole life and while not exactly an inventor, could fabricate from multiple materials, whether wood, metal, wire, or molded pieces projects or components that could help people with specific needs (whether recreating a matching church pew or creating based on a phone call a specific articulated foot brace that helped a friend with a serious injury). So he was able to bring forth meaningful work, albeit on a small scale.
I join you in the salute to the inner power and genius within us all.
    Be well,
    Bruce

    • Thank you Bruce for sharing your story about your father and the former owner of your home. Creating comes in many forms.

From Tesla’s wikepedia page “Near the end of his life, Tesla walked to the park every day to feed the pigeons and even brought injured ones into his hotel room to nurse back to health.[147][148] He said that he had been visited by a specific injured white pigeon daily. Tesla spent over $2,000, including building a device that comfortably supported her so her bones could heal, to fix her broken wing and leg.[24] Tesla stated,

I have been feeding pigeons, thousands of them for years. But there was one, a beautiful bird, pure white with light grey tips on its wings; that one was different. It was a female. I had only to wish and call her and she would come flying to me. I loved that pigeon as a man loves a woman, and she loved me. As long as I had her, there was a purpose to my life.[149][150]”

      Your father was a creator.

  3. reading about tesla was bitter sweet as well but more from a personal reason since i have never been a creative type of person and now it is more about that creativity but I will continue to plow through and in the end look forward to being creative myself.

    • I too steer toward the analytical instead of creative side. The brain is plastic so with an open mind and focus, anything is possible. Emerson said ” our strength comes from our weaknesses”. I will hold him to that!

  4. Catherine that reminds me of a passage in the Bible in 2Cor. 12:10 where Paul says when i am weak then i am strong. I think there is truth to what emerson says.

I was sitting here for a second looking for the word to describe how i felt about the story about your father and the word that came up was “Powerful.” And I smiled (thank you) because i got to see the perfection… with your post you talk about power and then you share a story that is so powerful… transformative. Thank you, Catherine. What a blessing to witness your experience. Peace.
